I did a Sunday Self Love live segment on GoKids Facebook page yesterday, and I thought I’d talk about daily self reflecting in our Monday’s blog post.
Self reflection – Why is it important?
We live a fast-pace lifestyle, with so many demands on our time and our energy . It is important that we need to make time daily to reflect about our lives, and really ask ourselves what do we really want in life? In fact, let’s drill down a little bit more; what do I want my DAY to look like?
My day to be happy, with less stress, with time to connect with family members, i.e. parents, elderly aunts and uncles who live far way, and more time with children before dinner time. Like a peaceful and organised dinner time? Relaxed and good communication with your spouse and children? etc etc etc.
Let’s make it a habit to make 5 minutes in the morning to be your self-love morning, while sipping your coffee maybe. Put your iPad or iPhone down for 5 minutes and plan your day – What would like your day to be? What would you like your day to mean?
- Imagine and create mental images.
- Feel it.
- Actually see yourself going through those phases.
The downside of not being aware of what’s happening and lack of planning can be major. You will just go through with whatever pops up in your day and may forget about what’s important and have to back-track, which can cause chaos, upsets or stress in your day.
So start with a clear intention... and start your day strong…
