Good morning to you and your family!
First let me start with an apology. I am doing a slight detour and will incorporate my content at MyLongTable.
My mission with you about My Long Table is this: I am sharing simple home cooked Malaysian dishes that I love, with the aim to make your KITCHEN the place for you to connect with your children and what your children can learn through those communications and interactions. Thus, I figure My Long Table website is more suited for my messages.
In there, I will still share with you content from GoKids and GoParents; however, it will be more focused on food, kitchen and grocery shopping with your children.
Two aspects that I will be covering: children’s learning and family connections.
Children’s learning –
Learning is not just about learning to read and write, it is about learning about values, about their culture, their heritage, about how things work, about health, food, cooking and most of all, how to communicate and build relationships with people around them.
And the kitchen is the best place to help you to connect with your children and empower the love of learning by helping you chop up / wash fresh ingredients, wash up dishes, measure ingredients, stir dishes in the pot etc.
I will be creating simple and fun ideas on how to instill the joy of learning in your children though grocery shopping and being in the kitchen with your children.
Family Connections – bridge both cultural and generational gaps with your children
I will be using your home kitchen as a place to bridge both cultural as well as generational gaps for time-poor parents, to open up the opportunity to communicate and to share experiences with your children.
Share with them all those delicious traditional dishes that you grew up with, tell them stories about your childhood, why you like this dish, who used to cook this dish for you, what ingredients are in that dish etc. and still cook wonderfully delicious dishes (even traditional dishes) for your family in a very short time frame… Sounds good?
How? – Using readymade sauces!
Over the past many years, I have come across many ready made curry pastes and various sauces that can create nice authentic dishes for your family within a very short time. By using those readymade sauces, you can still enjoy the dishes that you love in under 30 minutes, and have more time to spend with your children and for yourself at the end of the day.
That’s the whole aim right?
So, this is what going to happen, I will add you to MyLongTable mailing list and please head to MyLongTable FanPage and click LIKE to receive updates. (I will be closing down the current FanPage very shortly.)
I apologise for the change of website once again. It has been quite challenging to niche down my message, and thank you for your understanding and patience. I look forward to connecting with your through My Long Table.
Let’s aim to connect and build strong relationships with your children right now!… from the heart of your home – your KITCHEN! one day at a time:)
Have a wonderful day with your family.
