Instead of counting and colouring, I thought I’d share with you something FUN that you can do with your lunch bags. Yes, recyclable paper lunch bags.
This activity can be done anytime or anywhere, but it would be a fun activity to do at the kitchen bench while having breakfast together.
You need:
- Coloured Pencils
- Paper / Lunch Bag
Ask your child WHAT they would like to do that day or how they would like to FEEL that day.
Setting Intentions
This is the same as setting intentions for the day. Their first thoughts of the day are important, as they will set the tone for their day ahead. So rather than go with the flow, why not set the right tone for the day ahead. This is a very good habit to instill in your children and empower them with the power of setting intentions.
Make it light and fun and colourful. Below is how you can guide them:
- Use paper lunch bags or a nice piece of paper.
- Write something positive that they would like to FEEL that day or something that they really would like to do that day.
If your child is not ready to write yet, they can cut and paste images from magazines or newspapers, or print, cut and paste images from the internet.
Do these exercises every morning if you can spare the time. It’s about communicating and connecting.
Here are some of the advantages:
- You can connect with your children through fun every morning.
- You have a better understanding about how your child is feeling from the words or pictures they share.
- You will have the opportunity to dwell into communication further – an opportunity to explore and resolve any issues that you child may be dealing with.
Love to hear any comments from this post. Have a fun and connected day with your children.
