Did you celebrate Halloween?
I used to take my children (not now) to walk around the neighbourhood to "treat or tricking" and collect bags of sweets. It was really fun. It was a time for the children to get together, all dressed up and on your way to “trick or treating”.
By 5 o'clock, the children started coming, giggling, talking with such excitement, and wondering what they would they get from each household.
So how did you celebrate Halloween?
– Did you walk with your friends?
– What did you dress up as?
– How much goodies did you collect?
– What did you do with all the sweets?
Do you have a photo to share? I would love to hear from you. Share your thoughts below.
However, on Monday ……TRAGICALLY …..UNBELIEVABLY….. I had totally forgotten about it!!!!
This is the first time ever since we started participating 15 years ago…..I could not believe it. Normally I would have bought my treats, balloons and lolly bags and prepared everything by the morning. On that day, I was at my computer working, and by 3.30pm, I saw the kids walking along the street all dressed up ready for the "tricking or treating"…..
OMG!!!! I jumped up from my desk and was debating whether to dash out to the shop to get some sweets or make something within the next 1 hour, as normally the door bell would start ringing by 5.00pm…..
I knew I did not have time to run to the shops to get the sweets, so I whipped up some tasty Halloween Cheese Sticks…..Tasted OK…Phew!! Have a look at the picture below….What do you think?
What was the verdict? The kids loved it! It was something totally different! Something savoury for a change. However, I have noted that some children are intolerant to dairy….. so for next year, I may add cup cakes, cheese sticks and lolly packs to my selections for next year. My daughter suggested strawberry fondue (a bit healthier), hmmmm…. what do you think?
What would you like to have in your Treat Bag?
