1 cup of chopped dates
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
60g of butter or margarine
1 cup of castor sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup of self-raising flour
1 cup of soft brown sugar
125g of butter
150ml of cream
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Preheat oven to 180degrees and grease and flour a tin.
For pudding cook dates in water until combined.
Beat in remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour intoPrepared tin.
Bake for 25 minutes or until cooked.
For sauce ,combine all ingredients in saucepan and boil for 5 minutes.
Pour over pudding.
