FIFA 2014 World Cup started in Brazil last week (from 12 June to 13 July 2014), and I am sure you are enjoying this particular big event with your family right now.
As I have always believed, connections with your children are built on all those little shared moments together. Through those interactions and conversations, there is ample room to empower your children as well.
I am going to use the opportunity of this particular event; it can be a means to empower your children and to learn through fun.
So HOW can we have fun communicating while empowering your children through the World Cup?
- Connections – The FIFA World cup is happening right now, thus it is fairly easy to get the conversation going – make the time to enjoy the game together. While enjoying the matches together, you are literally creating connections with your children through fun – you see how easy it is to connect and have fun at the same time?
- Empowerment – Use the terminology of soccer often – i.e.
What does FIFA stands for?
Where is the World cup held?
Which countries are participating?
Where are they on the world map?
You see, empowering your children is not that hard. Just be creative. Invite your children and have fun watching the matches together. Through the commentary and conversations, your children will indirectly learn.
Remember, Interactions + Fun = Connections and Empowerment
Have a connected and fun day with your family.
