GoKids Challenge Update

Hey GoKidees and GoParents,

Thank you to all the parents who replied and provided feedback to the survey we ran a few weeks ago. After that survey about the direction of GoKids competitions, this is what I’ve concluded.

I treasure the energy in all your entries, but I have limited prizes to give out, so there can only be a few winners. I see the children and parents put in a lot of time and effort into their entries , but often they do not win the prizes….it can be very disappointing and demoralising, and I do feel for all of you.

My aim is to create something fun, educational and CHALLENGING, something that all GoKids would WANT to do it for themselves, and at the same time be rewarded for their effort. I believe all of you LOVE challenges…and knowing that you will be rewarded at the same time, makes it FUN and MOTIVATING.

This is the new plan: 

Future challenges:

• Quality Topic Challenges
• Age Appropriate
• Sustainable – does not require a lot of time to fulfill (but do need effort and thought) & minimal supervision, as I want all the GoKids to actually do it themselves
• Reward every entry
• Must be FUN

 I will open the challenges to all the GoKids to write, colour, creating works of art, writing poems or stories (picture stories for the very young)….. ALL your work will be published on GoKids Kids Zone. All entries will be are to be by GOKIDS and will be age appropriate. For example journal writing or story writing – for the younger GoKids, they can use pictures from magazines or newspapers to express their stories, and the older GoKids, they will use words, drawings or pictures, it does not matter how they present their work, all I need is for you to GIVE IT A GO! – That’s why You are GoKids – Kids on the GO!

What this means is, all entries will be published on the GoKids website irrespective, so no one is left out. This is your REWARD for giving it a GO! (Note: Editor will not publish offensive material)

At the same time, a few outstanding entries from the challenge will be selected by our competition panel and will receive a prize for the contribution. 

All entries can be sent in via the website or via e-mail. ALL contributions will be published on the website under Kids Zone. There will be a monthly/bimonthly theme for each challenge….and I will be publishing them very soon.

What I am looking for:

• All the GoKids to give it a go – I do not mind how you do it, just give it a GO!
• Originality – it must be YOUR own work!
