On Thursday, 16th April, 2009, a group of entertainers gathered for the last signing of the “Stars with Hearts International Celebrity T-Shirt Relay”. This relay was the idea of Lynn Santer (Aunty Lyn) to raise money for the Variety Club of Australia. Aunty Lynn is the author of many books including “The Magical Scarecrows” books which she especially wrote to be distributed to disadvantaged children throughout the world.

The T-Shirt was sent around the world for celebrities to sign, such as Hugh Jackman, Derryn Hinch, Shane Warne, Jackie Chan (in Hong Kong), Pricilla Presley (USA) and Jeffrey Archer (UK).
Dreamworld was kind enough to allow this special event to take part in their Australian Wildlife Enclosure where a party of 40 disadvantaged children was entertained by a group of entertainers. They were Aunty Lynn, Barry Crocker, Leo Sayer, Joe Burger, Picasso and Australian Idol singer Cosimo De Vito. Barry Crocker also read a chapter from one of the Scarecrow Books.

When the Charity Event was finished, I was lucky enough (with my grandmother) to spend the rest of the day enjoying all the rides and attractions which Dreamworld has to offer.
The first ride we decided to go on was the Log Ride. There was a long lineup, due to it being school holidays, but well worth the wait. We got very wet!
The Icecream Parlor had exceptional choices. We settled on a “Dreamworld Indulgence” sundae and a “Dreamspider” drink.
Around in the Nickelodeon World, we found a new ride called Sponge Bob Fly Pants. My grandmother loved this ride because you lie on your stomach and it was a chance to get off her feet. It is an enjoyable ride for all age groups.
My favourite of all the attractions is the Alien V Predators V You which is Dreamworld’s newest attraction. This is where I spent the rest of the afternoon. It is a two team’s fast paced adrenaline rising Laser Tag Game. I enjoyed this amazing thrill five times!
Dreamworld is number one on my theme park list because it also has White Water World which you can access by walking between the two worlds if you purchase tickets for both. It is a great day to take the kids as everyone will enjoy their time at both worlds.
Thank you Mitchell for your wonderful report and to Dreamworld for sponsoring both Mitchell and Bernadette for this special event.
